Model profile
The first-generation V60 (roughly 2010–2018) rode on Volvo's older EUCD platform and was the sportier, lower estate alongside the V70. It offered five-cylinder and later four-cylinder turbo petrols and diesels, plus an early V60 Plug-in Hybrid in some markets.
Powertrain and equipment
US second-generation cars centre on Volvo's 2.0-litre four-cylinder Drive-E family. The T5 is turbocharged front-wheel drive with around 250 hp; the T6 adds a supercharger on top of the turbo for roughly 316 hp and standard all-wheel drive.

Pre-purchase review
The V60 is generally solid, but a few known Volvo V60 common problems are worth checking. The Drive-E engines can suffer from early carbon build-up and, on higher-mileage cars, some owners report oil consumption and PCV/oil-separator issues. The Sensus infotainment could be laggy and occasionally needed software updates or the odd module replacement.
Germany and Europe
US cars are petrol or PHEV only — no diesels — and come with amber side markers, US headlight aiming and a rear fog-lamp arrangement that must be brought into line for German approval.
