Vehicle Inspections Across the USA

On-site visual inspection

Vehicle inspection before purchase

A vehicle inspection helps you better assess the visible condition of a vehicle in the USA or Canada before making a purchase decision.

When buying a vehicle from abroad, listing photos and seller statements are often not enough. Our inspection is designed as a practical on-site visual inspection and provides additional information about the visible condition of the vehicle.

Which option is right for you?

Please distinguish between a standalone on-site inspection and an inspection as part of a complete vehicle import. This helps avoid unnecessary delays and ensures that the vehicle is reviewed in the correct process from the start.

Recommended for imports

Inspection as part of an offer request

If you would like to import the vehicle through USCar Trader, we recommend requesting the inspection together with an offer request through the Import Calculator.

This allows us to check in advance whether the vehicle can generally be purchased and imported. If the inspection is then ordered as part of the import process, we take care of the organization and dealer coordination for you.

Standalone service

On-site vehicle inspection

This option is intended for a standalone on-site inspection.

In this case, the direct coordination with the dealer is handled by you. If the inspection is part of a vehicle import, please use the Import Calculator so the inspection can be correctly integrated into the import process.

Important ordering note

The option “On-site vehicle inspection” is intended for a standalone inspection, including direct dealer coordination by you. For inspections as part of a vehicle import, please use the Import Calculator. In that case, we take care of the complete organization and dealer coordination for you.

Why an inspection makes sense

A vehicle import involves several steps. Once purchase, transport, customs clearance and additional services have been initiated, unnecessary costs may arise if the vehicle does not meet your expectations. An on-site visual inspection can help you better assess the vehicle beforehand.

01

More clarity from abroad

You receive an additional assessment without having to travel to the USA or Canada yourself.

02

Better basis for your decision

The report helps you better understand visible condition details and plan your next steps.

03

Identify visible risks earlier

Visible damage, differences or open questions can be considered before the purchase decision is made.

How the vehicle inspection works

1

Select a vehicle

You have found an interesting vehicle and would like to better assess its visible condition before making a purchase decision.

2

Choose the right process

For a planned vehicle import, we recommend requesting the inspection as part of an offer request through the Import Calculator. This allows us to check in advance whether the vehicle can be purchased and imported at all. For a standalone inspection only, use the option “On-site vehicle inspection” and coordinate the appointment directly with the dealer.

3

On-site visual inspection

The vehicle is inspected on site. The accessible and visible areas of the vehicle are reviewed to the extent possible at the location.

4

Receive the report

After the inspection, you receive structured feedback with photos and a summary of the visible condition details.

What you receive after the inspection

Photo documentation

Photos of accessible areas of the vehicle, such as the exterior, interior, mileage, engine bay and relevant details.

Summary

A clear overview of the visible condition details based on the on-site inspection.

Inspector notes

Notes on visible points that may be worth reviewing more closely before making a purchase decision.

What the inspection does not replace

No workshop diagnosis

This is not a full technical diagnosis performed in a professional workshop.

No disassembly

Hidden areas, components or damage cannot be inspected if they are not visible or accessible.

No vehicle appraisal

The report is not a vehicle valuation and does not determine the market value.

No guarantee or warranty

The inspection does not guarantee that the vehicle is free of defects, accident-free or technically reliable in the future.

Legal notice regarding the visual inspection

The vehicle inspection is a visual inspection of the vehicle based on the areas that are accessible and visible at the time of the inspection. No disassembly, no inspection of hidden components, no lift inspection, no comprehensive workshop diagnosis and no technical inspection in the sense of an expert appraisal will be carried out unless expressly agreed in writing.

The inspection report is intended solely as an additional decision-making aid. It does not constitute a guarantee of condition, a guarantee that the vehicle is free of defects, a guarantee that the vehicle is accident-free, a vehicle appraisal or a binding statement regarding the future technical functionality of the vehicle.

Liability or warranty for hidden defects, damage that was not visible or detectable, incomplete or incorrect information provided by the seller, and any changes occurring after the time of inspection is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Claims based on intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body or health remain unaffected.

Planning a vehicle import?

Then it is best to start your request through the Import Calculator. This allows us to check in advance whether the vehicle is suitable for purchase and import, and whether an inspection can be reasonably integrated into the next steps.

If you only need a standalone visual inspection without import handling, please use the option “On-site vehicle inspection” and coordinate the appointment directly with the dealer.
