The ARIYA launched globally in 2021 and reached US customers as a 2023 model year. Nissan positioned it as a premium, design-led alternative to mainstream electric SUVs, with a minimalist cabin, a flat floor and a distinctive shield-style nose. Because it is a relatively new model, used US cars are almost all 2023 and 2024 examples with low to moderate mileage.
Powertrain and equipment
Two battery packs are offered: a roughly 63 kWh usable "standard range" and an 87 kWh usable "long range." Front-wheel-drive versions make between 214 and 238 hp depending on battery, while the dual-motor e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive models produce up to around 389 hp and 600 Nm.
The ARIYA is a five-door, five-seat crossover only. US trims include Engage, Venture+, Evolve+, Empower+, Premiere and Platinum+, with the higher grades adding a panoramic roof, Nappa leather, a 10-speaker Bose system, ProPILOT Assist 2.0 and a head-up display.

Pre-purchase review
As a newer model the ARIYA has a limited long-term track record, but early ownership reports are broadly positive. The most commonly cited issues are software-related: infotainment lag, occasional charging-session hiccups and updates addressing DC fast-charge behaviour, most of which are resolved via dealer or over-the-air updates. Some early cars were subject to service campaigns, so confirming these are complete is sensible.
Germany and Europe
The key difference is the charging inlet: US cars use CCS Combo 1 while Europe uses CCS Combo 2, addressed with the correct inlet or certified adapter.
US-market headlights use the FMVSS/SAE beam pattern, which differs from the ECE pattern required in the EU, so they may need adjustment or replacement with ECE-compliant units for registration.
