Honda Prologue

The Honda Prologue is Honda's first mainstream battery-electric SUV for North America, and because it launched for the 2024 model year the used market is young but growing as early lease returns appear.

Model profile

Model history and generations

Generations at a glance

The Prologue arrived as a 2024 model and is closely related to the Chevrolet Blazer EV and the Acura ZDX, all three sharing GM's Ultium architecture while wearing distinct bodies and interiors. Honda tuned the ride and steering to its own taste and fitted its own infotainment approach with Google built-in on higher trims plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Powertrain and equipment

Engines, drivetrain and trims

Powertrain lineup

The Prologue uses a large lithium-ion battery pack of roughly 85 kWh usable capacity. Single-motor front-wheel-drive versions produce about 212 hp, while dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions raise output to around 288 hp with meaningfully stronger acceleration and better traction.

Trims in the US market

The Prologue is a five-seat, five-door electric SUV. US trims run EX, Touring and the top Elite, with the range broadly moving from cloth-and-basics through leather-trimmed comfort to a fully loaded Elite with a head-up display, premium audio, ventilated front seats and the largest wheels.

North American market and suitability

The used market stateside

Supply is building steadily. Many early Prologues went out on aggressive US leases, and those cars are now returning to the wholesale market with low mileage and full histories.

Who should import one

The Prologue suits a buyer who wants a roomy, refined electric family SUV with a long real-world range and does not need sports-car pace.

Pre-purchase review

Model-specific inspection points

Inspection plan for this model

For the Honda Prologue, the agreed inspection plan focuses in particular on battery condition, charging interface, warning messages, software status and accessible high-voltage and cooling-system components. USCar Trader can document these points through a separately commissioned on-site inspection; inaccessible areas or unauthorised road tests are explicitly recorded as unchecked.

Germany and Europe

Differences, adaptation and registration

What US models do differently

US Prologues use the CCS1 charging port, so charging on European CCS2 networks requires a suitable adapter or awareness of the connector difference; plan for this before purchase.

German TÜV and registration

Typical work involves adapting the headlights to a compliant beam pattern, fitting or activating a rear fog lamp, evaluating the odometer and displays, and confirming charging compatibility.

USCar Trader services

Inspection, purchase processing and escrow

As a buyer based in Germany, you do not have to inspect the vehicle yourself in the United States or Canada. Within the agreed scope, USCar Trader can coordinate document review, a separately commissioned on-site inspection and purchase processing.

  • Vehicle profile and history: The profile can show the VIN, US title status and available history records. No data source guarantees that every earlier event was reported.
  • Optional CARFAX report: Additional reported maintenance or service entries can be included. The report is not a complete service book or proof of every interval.
  • On-site inspection / USCT AutoCheck: USCar Trader can arrange a separately booked vehicle inspection. Agreed visible and accessible areas are documented. Road or functional tests require suitable access and seller approval; the visual review is not a lift inspection or workshop diagnosis.
  • Purchase processing and escrow: After approval, USCar Trader can coordinate seller contact, negotiation, contract and the escrow and import service. Fees, payment route and responsibilities are recorded in advance.
  • Recalls: Open safety recalls can be checked by VIN through the NHTSA recall search; they do not describe overall condition.

Covered inspection points are agreed in advance. An on-site inspection records condition at the appointment and is not a guarantee.

Next step: Before commissioning, USCar Trader and the customer agree which document, history, inspection and transaction checks suit the vehicle and are included in the service. This records what was actually checked.

Questions and answers

Common questions about importing this model

Does this vehicle automatically qualify for a 0% import-duty rate?

No, not automatically. A 0% EU import-duty rate may be available for a vehicle covered by Regulation (EU) 2026/1455 that has US origin and is imported directly into the EU. CETA may apply to a vehicle with preferential Canadian origin. Whether the requirements are met is assessed for the individual case. Please contact USCar Trader before purchase; we review the possible duty benefit and provide non-binding support. Import VAT and other costs are assessed separately.

What range does the Honda Prologue offer?

Around 296 miles EPA for the front-drive version and roughly 273 to 281 miles for all-wheel drive, giving a solid real-world range in Europe.

Can a US Prologue charge on European networks?

It uses the CCS1 port, so you need a suitable adapter or awareness of the connector difference versus the European CCS2 standard.

Is the Honda Prologue related to other EVs?

Yes. It shares GM's Ultium platform with the Chevrolet Blazer EV and Acura ZDX, though each has its own body and interior.

What should I check on a used Prologue?

Battery state of health, latest software version, completion of any charging-related recalls, tyres and the 12-volt battery.

How long does importing take?

Usually several weeks, driven mainly by ocean freight scheduling and TUEV appointment availability.

Does USCar Trader sell new Honda cars?

No. We are an independent broker for used US vehicles only, with no manufacturer partnership and no vehicle margin.

How can a specific Honda Prologue be checked from Germany?

Available VIN, title and history information can be reviewed in the vehicle profile. USCar Trader can also arrange a separately booked on-site inspection within a scope agreed in advance.
