The Buick Envista is one of General Motors' newest small crossovers, launched for the 2024 model year as a low-slung, coupe-flavoured subcompact SUV positioned below the Encore GX.
Model profile
It rides on GM's global VSS-F front-drive architecture, sharing much of its hardware with the current Chevrolet Trax. Buick's angle is the styling — a long roofline that tapers into a fastback-like tail — plus a quieter, better-trimmed cabin than the Chevrolet cousin. Because the model is so young, there are no meaningful sub-generations yet; differences come down to trim and options.
Powertrain and equipment
There is one engine across the range: a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder producing roughly 137 hp and about 162 lb-ft of torque, driving the front wheels through a six-speed automatic.
The Envista is sold only as a five-door crossover, in three main trims: Preferred, Sport Touring (ST) and the range-topping Avenir. Even the entry car comes with an 11-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch driver display, while Avenir adds nicer materials, a heated steering wheel and cosmetic upgrades.

Because the Envista only arrived for 2024, used stock is dominated by 2024 and 2025 cars with low mileage, many of them lease returns or lightly used retail examples.
The Envista makes sense for a buyer who wants a stylish, efficient, well-equipped small crossover with genuine Buick badge appeal and doesn't need all-wheel drive.

The Envista is too new for a settled reliability record, so honesty means pointing at the shared hardware rather than model-specific horror stories.
Germany and Europe
A US Envista runs a miles-per-hour cluster, US-market lighting with amber turn signals and no rear fog lamp, and US radio/telematics calibration. Driver-assist features are tuned to US standards.
Expected work covers a rear fog lamp, headlight and indicator conversion to EU spec, a km/h speedometer and confirmation of lighting colour and pattern.
