Model profile
The first-generation Enclave (2008–2017) launched Buick's move into premium crossovers, built on GM's Lambda platform it shared with the GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse. A mild facelift in 2013 brought a revised grille and updated interior tech. The second generation arrived for the 2018 model year on the C1XX platform, shedding weight, gaining a nine-speed automatic and adopting the brand's floating roofline.
Powertrain and equipment
For most of its life the Enclave used GM's 3.6-litre LGX (and earlier LLT/LFX) direct-injection V6, producing roughly 288–310 hp depending on year, paired with a six-speed automatic in the first generation and a nine-speed automatic from 2018.
The Enclave has always been a single body style: a long, five-door crossover with three rows. Trim walk in the second generation ran Preferred, Essence, Premium and the luxury-focused Avenir, the latter adding quilted leather, a heads-up display, unique wheels and extra sound insulation.
Vehicle selection
Enclaves are plentiful across the US, particularly in family-friendly suburban states, so supply of well-kept examples is strong. Typical import candidates are 2018–2023 cars with 40,000 to 110,000 miles (roughly 65,000–175,000 km). Southern and western states tend to yield rust-free bodies and undercarriages, which matters for a smooth German registration.

Pre-purchase review
The 3.6 V6 is broadly durable, but there are known Buick Enclave common problems to check. Earlier LLT engines were prone to timing-chain stretch and excessive oil consumption if oil changes were neglected; the later LGX is much improved but still benefits from strict service intervals.
Germany and Europe
US-market headlights use the FMVSS/SAE beam pattern, which differs from the ECE pattern required in the EU, so they may need adjustment or replacement with ECE-compliant units for registration.
