Does this vehicle automatically qualify for a 0% import-duty rate?
No, not automatically. A 0% EU import-duty rate may be available for a vehicle covered by Regulation (EU) 2026/1455 that has US origin and is imported directly into the EU. CETA may apply to a vehicle with preferential Canadian origin. Whether the requirements are met is assessed for the individual case. Please contact USCar Trader before purchase; we review the possible duty benefit and provide non-binding support. Import VAT and other costs are assessed separately.
Which Arteon should I import?
The facelifted 2021-2023 cars with the 300 hp engine and 4Motion are the strongest all-round choice for German conditions.
Is the Arteon front- or all-wheel drive?
Both. Lower US trims are front-wheel drive; the top SEL Premium R-Line and many higher trims add 4Motion all-wheel drive.
Can I get an Arteon Shooting Brake from the US?
No. The US never received the Shooting Brake estate or the Arteon R, only the fastback liftback.
How is import VAT treated when importing a Volkswagen Arteon?
Import VAT and other taxes or costs are assessed separately under the applicable rules and the circumstances of the individual case. A blanket answer for every vehicle would not be reliable.
What are the main reliability watch points?
Intake-valve carbon, water-pump wear, transmission fluid service and sunroof drain maintenance top the list.
Is parts availability a concern in Europe?
No. The Arteon shares most components with European VW Group cars, so parts and service are readily available.
What does TUEV approval involve?
Mainly lighting conversion, a rear fog lamp, odometer verification and the individual technical inspection.
