The Sportage has run through five generations since 1993, but the hybrid is a recent chapter. The fourth generation (QL, 2016–2021) offered only combustion engines in North America. The fifth-generation NQ5, which arrived in the US for 2023, introduced the Sportage Hybrid alongside a plug-in hybrid variant.
