The modern Wagoneer nameplate returned for the 2022 model year, reviving a badge Jeep last used in the early 1990s. The standard Wagoneer arrived first; the extended Wagoneer L followed for 2023, adding roughly 30 cm of overall length and a longer wheelbase to free up third-row legroom and cargo space behind it.
Powertrain and equipment
The most important thing to know when you import a used Wagoneer L from the USA is the engine change. The 2022 standard Wagoneer launched with the familiar 5.7-litre HEMI V8 with 48-volt eTorque mild-hybrid assistance, good for around 392 hp and 404 lb-ft.
The Wagoneer L is offered only as a full-size, three-row SUV seating seven or eight depending on second-row bench or captain's chairs. Trim walk runs through Series II and Series III, with option groups such as the Carbide appearance package.

Supply in the United States is healthy. Because the L body only appeared in 2023, most cars for sale are recent lease returns and one-owner examples with moderate mileage. Typical odometer readings sit well below what you would expect from an older SUV, and southern and western states offer rust-free examples that pass a German inspection more easily.

The 2022 HEMI eTorque cars can show the well-known lifter and "HEMI tick" concerns and occasional 48-volt mild-hybrid faults. Across the range, the most common owner complaints involve Uconnect 5 infotainment glitches, software updates and minor electrical gremlins rather than mechanical failure.
Germany and Europe
US-market headlights use the FMVSS/SAE beam pattern, which differs from the ECE pattern required in the EU, so they may need adjustment or replacement with ECE-compliant units for registration.
Typical changes for approval include retrofitting a rear fog lamp, adapting the headlights, and confirming the odometer reads correctly in kilometres or is documented in miles.
